Excellent Audiophile Quality
I found the quality of these tape transfers to be extraordinary. There is a complete absence of background noise. The sound is dense and textured and shows very well on a high end system. I have purchased several others as a result.

Paul Desmond - Glad To Be Unhappy
With the release of this title on HDTT it is so nice to hear a couple of friends in the studio. The sound places you in the middle as the players trade music with each other.

Buttery Smooth
This is typical Paul Desmond with some pretty good friends! While it may not break new ground musically it fits the bill for really listenable music. You can check Amazon for further reviews on the music side of things. In my experience Desmond seemed to pay close attention to the recording quality of his recordings. I only have a few but all are excellent. This transfer is top notch so it adds a little more than you will get on a CD. Nice soundstage with everyone getting some nice space to work with. The drums and cymbals are outstanding and brushwork is some of the best I can remember. Jim Hall does his usual great seemingly understated but tasty work. Nice fit for this album. Relaxing but not boring at least IMO. Thank you again HDTT.

Glad to be Unhappy
Very good sound on all tracks, except for the badly distorted sound of guitar on a couple of tracks. This was no doubt on the master tapes and hence unfixable. Lovely music.
Sumptuously!
Paul Desmond is my favorite saxophonist. Magic ringtones. Great recording quality
