By 1962, Jimmy Smith had already established himself as a revolutionary jazz organist with his groundbreaking recordings for Blue Note Records. Bashin’ - The Unpredictable Jimmy Smith marked his debut on Verve, where producer Creed Taylor paired him with arranger Oliver Nelson and a big band for a fuller, more orchestrated sound. The album was a commercial success, helping introduce Smith to a broader audience. This album's sound is at the top tier of Verve titles, delivering an outstanding sonic experience!
