Leonard Bernstein's Symphony No. 1: Jeremiah is one of his most profound and emotionally charged works. Composed in 1942, it is a reflection of Bernstein’s Jewish heritage and his deep concern with moral and spiritual themes.
Samuel Barber's Medea’s Meditation and Dance of Vengeance, Op. 23a, is a gripping orchestral work drawn from his 1946 ballet Medea. This standalone concert piece, extracted and revised in 1955, encapsulates the emotional core of the ballet, portraying Medea’s psychological torment and ultimate vengeance.
