This Mercury title featuring Hanson Symphony No. 2 "Romantic" and the Lament For Beowulf, conducted by Hanson himself, is considered by many as one of the best-sounding releases from Mercury's Rochester, NY venue. The early stereo Mercury signature sound is fantastic, making it possibly the definitive version of the symphony. You can trust in the composer's expertise as he conducts this masterpiece with precision.

Simply outstanding in all respects
I second everything George R has said in his comments. This is simply a superb release -- musically and sonically. If you're not familiar with the music, but you enjoy large scaled orchestral music in the Romantic tonal tradition, you should get this album! If you already know and like this Mercury recoding, you should definitely get this VRR release. The sound quality if terrific.

Terrific music, love the sound
This VRR release in DSD 256 fully justifies HDTT's venture into Vinyl Restoration. For one thing, it's terrific music, played probably as well is it ever will be. And the sound is celestial: in fact it's very reminiscent of the vinyl original, which is high praise indeed. If anything, it's even better, because it offers the listener more access to the bass section of the orchestra. Plus, this is very well known music as it was the theme/soundtrack to the movie Alien, famous for Sigourney Weaver and her underwear ~smile ~
