Great Musicians - Excellent Sound
Great musicians, good music and excellent sound—what’s not to like? A couple of quibbles—if you’re buying this recording to hear Milt Jackson or Thelonius Monk, these musicians only play on the first two tracks of "Bags Groove". The remainder of the Miles Davis/Jackson/Monk session is available from HDTT as "Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants”.

Miles Davis - Bags Groove
Really wonderful album with Milt Jackson on the vibes. The sound of the vibes and tone of trumpet is just exceptional on the DSD 256 File. Highly recommended.

Review Miles Davis Bags Groove dsf
Wonderful, clear, present, as good as vinyl on a good system (though a bit different). Why aren't more recordings available in this great format?

Miles Davis - Bags Groove
A well known album, but this is the best sounding version I have

Among the best Jazz for me
Miles was a wonderfully talented and complex guy. Though I didn’t really enjoy some of what he did in his later years, I’ve always given him a LOT of credit for never staying just in one place, milking things forever. He certainly was unique. I love a lot of different kinds of Jazz well played, but FOR ME, the relaxing coolness of Bags Groove is among the best. I’ve listened to it countless times over the years and on many different formats, ranging through both analog and digital. Without reservation, this HDTT digital version played through my high-end equipment is right up there near the top. MikeMac
