This recording captures splendid public performances of two groundbreaking works of Anton Bruckner (b. 4 September 1824 – d. 11 October 1896), composed less than a decade apart early in his career, and both representing a style at the time of composition that was new, even revolutionary, for the composer - that of the large-scale symphonic choral cantata.
