Modern Jazz Quartet - Django - Pure DSD
"Django" has become a jazz standard and is recognized for its elegant and contemplative melody. The piece showcases the MJQ's unique blend of classical music influences, cool jazz, and blues. John Lewis, Milt Jackson (vibraphone), Percy Heath (bass), and Connie Kay (drums) comprised the original lineup of the Modern Jazz Quartet, and their refined and sophisticated approach to jazz set them apart from many of their contemporaries.

All-time great jazz album excellent sound
Obviously, this is one of the all-time great jazz albums. The HDTT sound is so good in DSD 256 that the mono won't bother you at all. A must-have for jazz lovers.

A Jazz Standard - in a great transfer
Easy to understand why this Modern Jazz Quartet album is considered a jazz standard. The sound quality in this new HDTT transfer is stunningly good for the time in which this was recorded, particularly Milt Jackson's vibes.

Excellent Recording, Variable Music
I would give the first 6 tracks of this recording an unequivocal 5-stars. I am less enthusiastic about the second half—I’d probably rate that part lower, although even “good” MJQ is very good indeed. 4 1/2 stars overall, rounded to 5
