Time Further Out - The Dave Brubeck Quartet

Time Further Out follows up on their groundbreaking Time Out album. Known for pushing the boundaries of jazz, Brubeck explored complex time signatures in Time Out, and in Time Further Out, he continued this exploration with even more experimental time signatures, ranging from 3/4 to 7/4 and beyond.
The album title and concept pay homage to the abstract surrealist painter Joan Miró. Each track on Time Further Out corresponds to a different time signature and is meant to evoke the style and feel of Miró's work. This blending of music and visual art underscores Brubeck’s intention to connect jazz with other artistic expressions, creating an album that’s both musically innovative and conceptually rich. The album features iconic members of Brubeck’s quartet, including Paul Desmond on alto saxophone, Eugene Wright on bass, and Joe Morello on drums.
