Recording Info: Recorded on 11 Dec 2017 at Pro Musica, Chicago by Jonathan Horwich to a custom 8-track Revox/Studer tape deck at 15ips IEC through a Manley microphone preamplifier. Microphones used were a Neumann U-67 on Flugelhorn, a custom stereo, omnidirectional KMF tube mic on piano and two Sanken CO-100Ks on bass.

Veteran jazz trumpeter and flugelhorn master Dr. Bob Lark has directed many bands in more than 20 years as Director of Jazz Studies at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. But here we find him in an intimate and unusual setting—solely with piano and bass. In this pared-down arrangement of musicians, all is exposed--and so it is here, to our benefit--with the musicians rising to the challenge and playing musical standards beautifully.
