Richie Beirach, a brilliant and singular jazz pianist who recorded several stellar albums for the ECM label, is captured here with bassist George Mraz in a concert hall setting befitting such majestic music. Heard with all the air and space present in any such concert setting, the music is both easy to listen to and sublime. The stunning recording quality perfectly reflects and mirrors the music. This is jazz, played in a concert symphony environment, at its finest.
