Fabulous early stereo
It is quite amazing that this recording is 68 years old. The sound is fantastic and, of course, Reiner was a master of this music. A must have.
A true BOMB!!
Sensational recording of a fantastic orchestra. Fritz Reiner is a powerful conductor. The recording is breathtaking.
Stunning
In 1955, I was 12 years old, and my family was on summer vacation visiting my aunt and uncle in Toledo Ohio. My uncle was a successful home builder and well-off enough to afford what was then considered to be a high fidelity music system, based on a 2 track reel to reel stereo tape player. He played this tape recording for me and I have never forgotten the sound. It opened my eyes to what a home high fidelity system could sound like. Over the years, I have owned may versions of this recording, including CD’s, half-speed masters, and two original mint 1s/1s vinyl pressings from 1958, but none has matched the memory of what I heard that day in 1955 - until now. This tape transfer easily surpasses anything I have heard in the past 67 years. The presence, inner detail and sound stage are stunning. Highly recommended!

A magical transfer and eternal joy
Now with well over 100 titles from HDTT in my digital library, I consider this transfer (DSD128) to be the most successful. It’s the gold standard. Absolutely amazing that this session was recorded already in March 1954. An audio treasures worth every dollar. Strongly recommended.
